These grants for the most will never have to be paid back, now what do you think a loan without interest and never has to be paid back.
The best place to start is on the internet, there are a lot of websites out there that will give excellent advice to what agency to check with for the type of grant to get, there are books that are specifically written just for government grants.
When you find the information where to start then go to the agencies website and see the requirements they have to apply for the government grant. See if you meet the requirements then sit down and write out your needs, see what it will take to do what you are wanting to do, make a list then get your financial information as to cost and any unexpected cost, get estimates and when you have all this, then you are ready to apply for your government grant.
If you are a small business, then the there are agencies out there just for small businesses, make your business plan for the expansion of you business. Agencies like the Small Business Administration has a world of information and tools to help accomplish this, if you are a small business then start there.
When applying for these grants give yourself time and have patience, nothing is easy but when you are done it will be worth it. You can expand and not have a hefty loan on your books taking much needed capital for other operating expenses.
